 Plus Points:

  • Vikram
  • Keerthy Suresh
  • Action episodes

 Minus Points:

  • Screenplay

Performance: Vikram is superb in this powerful role of cop  as Ramasaamy. He comes up with an energetic performance. Keerthy Suresh has done superb job as a girl who studies in London, come back to India and think only about marrying a man who slaps her twice in the film. Prabhu who plays her father, a central government minister, fit in this role. Bobby Simha is menacing in the role of Ravana Bikshu. Prabu, Soori and the rest of the cast, did a fine job in their roles.

Technical: The story of Saamy 2 is predictable. The movie has Hari scenes like chase scenes, caste clashes,  and crass comedy injected into the proceedings.  Everybody shouts in the film, especially in the hero vs villain scenes. The dialogues are meaningful. The Songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad are good. BGM is fine. The Cinematographer did a fabulous job in setting the right mood for the action and romantic entertainer. The editing is crisp. Stunts and action sequences are choreographed well. The Production values are good.

Analysis:  Story of Saamy 2 goes on a predictable note, but the emotions are rightly captured and action is perfectly executed. The director  could have concentrated more on his screenplay to make Saamy 2 even better one. There are neither surprising moments nor boring moments in the film. It is out and out one man show of Vikram.
