Janatha Hotel, is the dubbed version of Malayalam hit movie Ustad Hotel, in which Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon are playing the lead roles. The movie is directed by Anwar Rasheed whereas it has the music by Gopi Sundar. Ustad Hotel has won three National Film Awards, for Best Popular Film, Anjali Menon won the award for Best Dialogues and Thilakan got a Special Mention. Story: Janatha Hotel is the tale of a youngster Faizi (Dulquer Salmaan), who has been living with his father (Siddique) and four sisters in Gulf. He goes to Switzerland to study hotel management and before settling down in London, he comes back to his native place in Kozhikode. His father wants him to marry a girl (Nithya Menen), who belongs to a rich family. What happens when circumstances send him to his grandfather’s humble hotel that is under threat? To get this answer, one should watch the movie on silver screen.

Performance: Dulquer Salmaan looks handsome and stylish. He chose a content oriented film and added a bit of heroism to his characterization. Nithya Menen who plays the love interest of Dulquer Salmaan, looks cute and gives natural performance. Thilakan is brilliant as usual. Kollywood actor Jayaprakash, Assim Jamal, Mamukkoya, Lena, Asif Ali, Jishnu and other did their job fabulously.
Technical: The story of Janatha Hotel is very interesting. What makes this film interesting is the screenplay. Camera work is too good and treats to your eyes. Music by Gopi Sundar is excellent. He sets the mood up for the film with his background music. The songs are good. The plus points of Janatha Hotel are its story and direction. BGM, camera work, editing by Praveen Prabhakar and most importantly fantastic writing by Anjali Menon are the major highlights of Janatha Hotel. There are many references to Malabari cuisine, including long sequences of cooking.
Analysis: Janatha Hotel is about a youngster trying to find his life. The makers attempt to present the real-life situations that people go through in their daily lives. Everything including the acting, direction, music and visuals are impressive. The first half is filled with comedy whereas second half is filled with the scenes that have love, joy, poverty, under privilege, everything compelled to make a Janatha Hotel indeed a heartwarming, endearing and lovable. Janatha Hotel is a must watch.
